Our tour of Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden takes us along numerous pathways that leads us through the Fragrance Garden Sculpture Garden, Garden of Extinction and Cycad Garden. Not to be missed is the canopy walkway that is discreetly located in the tree tops. It offers stunning views of Kirstenbosch, the mountain range and beyond.
If you can’t or don’t really feel like walking then for a small fee there is an option to make use of a shuttle car tour.
You could choose to take you own picnic hamper or order one in the gardens that can be enjoyed under a shady tree or by one of the streams. The Garden also has a restaurant, self-service area, tea room and curio shop where you can pick some fantastic memorabilia. Kirstenbosch is naturally a favourite location for birdwatchers as the garden attracts a variety of birds that feed and nest in the garden.
This tour can be extended to a full day to include a visit to Hout Bay and The Chapman's Peak Drive.
