Wildlife & Nature Tours
Cape Town
The West Coast National Park is a comfortable 2 hour drive from Cape Town. Upon arrival we will take our time to explore the unique and diverse habitats of the park including the Langebaan Lagoon with its salt marshes and wetlands.
In the park you can expect to see Eland, Bontebok, Springbok, Hartebeest, Wildebeest and Zebras. Smaller wildlife highlights may include Tortoise, and occassionaly Snakes. The bird hides give us the opportunity of viewing some of the many bird species found in this area, such as Flamingo, Weavers and The Black Harrier. Be sure to bring your binoculars with you.
During spring the ground is covered with a tapestry of multi-hued flowers, and in the Postberg section antelope can be seen in a setting that is as unique as it is idyllic. The Postberg section of the park is however only open to visitors during the spring flowering season which is August and September.
From August to November Southern right whales can be viewed from the Tsaarsbank picnic site.
The Geelbek visitor’s centre is conveniently located at the southern end of the lagoon offering refreshments, curios and information on cultural history of the park. Other lunch options include enjoying a picnic lunch at one of the relaxing picnic sites or view points situated along the coast.
We shall leave the park in plenty of time to arrive back in Cape Town in the early evening.
